It seems Garth is setting a trend.....
After 40 years on the road, the Statler Brothers are retiring from the road.
I grew up on the Statlers, and can still sing along to even their album cuts. But I have yet to seem them in concert. Now, I obviously am not going to get the chance. :(
To me, the Statlers are true American originals. Their country / gospel harmonies, with songs about true life, brought you into their life, so you felt you knew them, their hometown, and their families.
All these years later, to me, Jimmy is still the new guy.
To Harold, Phil, Don and Lew - and Jimmy, thanks for the Maple Street Memories!
