Confused?! Thinking: "Is she going crazy yet?!"

No! And you’ll see, that I mean, what I say very soon.

Today I had a funny conversation about Country Music and Garth Brooks with a colleague. We worked in the same patient’s room and after realising, that I’m a Garth Brooks-Fan (Which I said with pride!) he wanted to know more. So at all he asked me to sing some of his songs.
Well, you’ve never heard me singing. Be happy with that! ;)
I decided to copy him some songs of Garth to let him feel the music and listen to.

Now I ask you. If you’d like to introduce Garth´s music to someone, which songs would you choose to show the whole spectrum and who Garth Brooks is?

I know, you are the best to answer it.

Thanks a lot!

Way to go - continue to spread the word.....

My 3 most favourite Garth songs are Friends in Low Places, The Dance and Two Pina Coladas.

They could do for a start?

Hope you are well.

I know I'm probably going to get some heat from this, but I'm going to say it anyways.

I've made copies of Garth stuff for friends before (cringes as rocks are thrown).......here's my reasoning...I take what I think are the best Garth songs, songs that cover the whole spectrum of his abilities, current releases and old releases, songs that have different ideas behind them, serious songs, fun songs, songs that have similarities to other music my friends like...You guys know what I'm talking about, Garth does a large variety of stuff. Folks that I give these CD's aren't going to buy any Garth stuff anyways so I dont feel to bad about it, and after my they listen to the CD they usually end up asking for more, and I say if you want more you're going to have to spend the cash, and they do.

Here's songs I always try to include::

Callin Baton Rouge
Unanswered Prayers
Ain't Goin Down
The Dance
Two of A Kind
Standing Outside the Fire
When There's Noone Around
We Bury the Hatchet
Every Now and Then
Papa Loved Mama

After I re-read my post I realized it sounds like I do this all the time...I really don't, I've probably only made half a dozen CD's for people, and only folks I've known for awhile and know they're not going to buy any of Garth's stuff anyways. And like I said, most of them end up buying a CD or two :)

Hi Kiwi!

I got your pm. Hope you got mine back. At the end of this post there´s something for you. I hop, it helps a bit. It´s me sometimes! ;)

Always yours!

Thank you, Angela!

Allison, thank you! Well, I don´t copy everything for everybody. It´s just this time to introduce Garth. If Thommy (The one who´ll get it.) likes his music, he´s to pay for it to make Garth a rich & happy man. Well, for making Garth happy there maybe should be someone else! ;)

Madeleine, Nice pic of you:)

I would play my top 11 from the other thread:)

Very cool that you are getting someone else into Garth :)
If it were me "introducing" someone else to GB, I'd definitely include The Dance, Unanswered Prayers, FILP, If Tomorrow Never Comes, Ain't Goin' Down (and/or The Fever), Rodeo, The Red Strokes, The Beaches of Cheyenne, and Why Ain't I Running. Almost a little something from each album :)

Sorry.....wouldn't have the vaguest idea which ones.

Why that pic of you looks like a bull with 'google eyes'! :D

If your sharing a few songs of Garth with someone to introduce them to Garth....I'd say the songs:

'The River'
'Unanswered Prayers'
'Belleau Wood'
'The Dance'

Sing them to him if you can...:p
Don't worry about your singing! To him it will be beautiful!

Good Luck!

hugs to you!

Hey Maddy

Thats so cool about the guy you work with wanting to know more about da man. I was waiting for one of my best friends to come round last week and he was late, as usual, lol so I put 'Central Park' on the video (love that video) and when he came in he just stood there and started shaking his head and tutting. Da boy doesn't appreciate good music if you ask me. ;)
But I got my own back later, we were in HMV and they began playing 'Scarecrow' I couldn't believe it, it was so cool. So I took my time looking around, hehehe. I managed to get him to stay for four songs then he dragged me out of the shop.

This is so difficult, a friend of a friend wanted to hear some of Garths stuff so I recomended Double Live because there's a bit of every thing

but what about-

The Dance
Calling Baton Rouge
The River
Friends In Low Places
Unanswered Prayers
Two of a Kind
We shall be Free

Ok im going to stop now, this list could go on a bit, lol

Hi Hannah!

Thanks for your nice post!

"so I put 'Central Park' on the video (love that video)..."

I know exactly, what you mean! I love that video sooooooooooo much. It´s the only "Garth-Concert" I´ve ever been - on tv. ;)
It´s like being there. It´s funny! It lays beside me. Watched a bit yesterday.
Two of my best friends know and like Garth, too. A bit. They both got "Scarecrow" from me at Christmas. Well, the one I havn´t seen yet. I´m very exited to hear, what she thinks about it. But she´s more a Collin Raye-Fan. I introduced her with him. It´s real cool to give music you love as a gift to your best friends. When we both where "on the highway" ;) here in Germany we played his music and screamed our souls out. Too funny we both together! You need to see that! LOL!
Well, maybe I can make her fall in love with Garth, too. I have much more songs to share then! Other hands we could get some trouble, if we love the same man! LOL!

"...and when he came in he just stood there and started shaking his head and tutting. Da boy doesn't appreciate good music if you ask me."

It´s the same I go through. And yes, what poor guys those people are. They have no idea, what they´ll miss!

Great songs you chose! But which arn´t?! ;)

"Ok im going to stop now, this list could go on a bit"
I can understand it sooo good!!!
