This is very cool:cool:

Top 10 Reasons I Like Garth Brooks and Hope This Isn't His Last Year in Country Music

1. He has written and recorded some truly profound songs.

2. He has endured the criticism of lesser talents with grace and fortitude.

3. He still says "Yes sir" and "Yes ma'am" like he means it.

4. He doesn't travel with an entourage.

5. He remembers the people who were kind to him on the way up -- and the ones who weren't.

6. He uses his wealth, energy and imagination to transcend the constraints of time and space that shackle most of us.

7. He created Chris Gaines, a sensible invention for a man who's too big to inhabit just one personality. The failure of Chris Gaines -- who, let's not forget, has sold nearly 2 million albums -- wasn't the weakness of the music but Brooks' unwillingness to simply ignore the predictable ridicule and continue to build a separate life for his alter ego.

8. He exercises the kind of control over his record label that every artist secretly aspires to.

9. He never betrays his fans.

10. He was country when country wasn't cool. So he made it cool.

Right on in all ways stated;

'cept best to choose love and time to love for all that is loved;

whenever possible.

So much of the music making industry is "down time" - especially when touring

Come to think of it......didn't those tight jeans have something to do with cool, too?? (LOL) [I have to stop thinkin' this way]! :cool:

That's funny, Carol... cuz whenever I think of those tight jeans, "hot" is more of what I'm thinking and not so much "cool"...

All VERY true!!!

1. Think that goes without saying. He's given us many truly indredible songs!!!

2. I've always thought that. He handles it with class all the way.

3. I still think it's cute he does that! LOL

4. He's never felt the need to. He's always said he feels safe around his fans. I'm glad we've never given him a reason not to feel that way!

5. No comments needed.

6. Still don't know how he sees so far beyond what most of us can.

7. Chris was NOT a failure!!!

8. If more artists would take that kind of control, we might hear some amazing things from them. You never know. The record companies don't know what we want to hear.

9. He does everything he can never to let the fans down. As far as I'm concerned, he never has.

10. He made it cool and brought many of us over to country. Thank God for that!!!

Ok Jakob and Nelly... don't go ganging up on me, now... hehehe...

As far as the last comment, if it weren't for Garth, I most likely wouldn't be a country fan now... or if I was, I doubt I'd like it as much as I do now.

Thanks Garth!

#six is a related comment to a thread on here. And is a comment that makes it so obvious that the writer "got it" that it makes me smile.
