Hello everyone
Below is a song that was written in the mid 90`s but either I or my band ever took it out to the public though a record company wanted us to do it some years ago.
Its one of thos songs Ive never really satisfied with but I cant point my finger at why.
When we play it the music floats just like it should but still in my mind something is wrong. Is it the lyrics?
Any suggestions or comments on this one???
Ill be happy to answer all questions? :) Thanx

TWENTY CENTURY COWBOY THE RED STROKES

In a pretty spooky place down in East L.A.
A young man was passing me by - He`s been hiding a lie
and I could see it in his eyes

*********** He ordred up some booze - knew hes gonna loose
PRE CHORUS
*********** He just wanna drink for a while

****** He was the twenty century cowboy - all alone in the night
CHROUS
****** campfire light you could see tonight his all alone
( Silence )

All his friends were gone - Six feet underground
He was the only one left of the tribe
The little land of bloom - Was taken down to soon
He feel left alone to be doomed

******
CHORUS X 1
******

***********Guitar & Harmonica********

He slowly walked away - ( to the ) doctor that could say
trying hard makes you fly
All alone he was - Tired after all
His last shot ended with a smile

*********** He ordred up some booze - knew his gonna loose
PRE CHORUS
*********** He just wanna drink for a while

CHORUS X 2 LAST LINE AND END

It sounds real nice but I'm not as good as saying what is right or wrong.
Anyway if it feels you happy you shoulda play it.

I never realeased any cd`s unfortunatly. The reason for this is that some of the boys I`ve played with through the years are really not shearing my point of view on country music and in my mind I think its wrong putting out something that not everyone is happy with.
This is also the reason that I dont have a band these days.:)

These days im only a songwriter and a performer all by my lonesome :)

Im still not sure about the song. It never was ment afcourse as an happy song. I mean there is always sad when someone dies. Even in a song.

Country music will always be the diamond in my heart and I always will keep on doing it somewhere or somehow.

Hello Marga and thanx.
One thing abot my songs; Im always trying to write a happy song to get people in good mood or deep songs that begins a little tragic but in the end it always seems to end up beeing 100% sad.
Hmmmmmm......
Im I happy person so I cant understand why.....:)
Strange!!
