Garth: Nation Looks To Entertainers
-- Garth Brooks says that the September 11 terrorist attacks put life into perspective for him as an entertainer. His reaction was a feeling of helplessness, he tells Launch.
"I think everybody in the entertainment business -- I'm only speaking for myself -- really realized how unimportant you felt during this because I couldn't do what the firefighters do. I couldn't do what our men and women of the military does.

I couldn't do what the government did, so I was kind of helpless. Our time, though, is starting. Now we'll look to our entertainers, we'll look to our actors, we'll look to everyone to take us from this, while honoring and remembering it as well, and that's what our jobs are."

Thanks Cheryl...

I think we all felt helplessness...and vulnerable...like Garth did.
But we are Uniting in ways around this country...
letting the terrorists know...
this branch (America)
...bends...
But it won't break...

I think Garth has a lot in store for us yet...:D
I got excited today when my son called me and said turn on channel
such and such!
There was Garth...it was a repeat of "Saturday Night Live"...
with Robert Duvall...It was the ending part...
Great to see Garth on TV though!
Reminded me of old times...when everyone would call me and say
"Turn on the TV!"....
LOL :D

Ah....Garth,

everything else continues to pale in comparison. The tremendous significance of those moments in history. To have been a part of those moments - to have viewed that distruction;

those memories burned into the mind.

how to sift through them and make sense out of the insanity of those moments. Difficult.

how to give meaning to the events so that history doesn't repeat itself - for our children.

So right to observe, now the entertainers will help us heal. With God's help.

In looking back at what Garth said in the above quote...
about "our time, though, is starting"...

As an entertainer...I wonder what he has planned other than
the release of "Scarecrow"...

I guess we all try to find "comfort" in the best way possible
in overcoming something so horrible...
Music is a great outlet to plug into for some comfort.

Fuzz...I believe your right...we all need each other.

But how sad for Garth to have witnessed what he did in NY that day.

I hope we can comfort him also in some way.

Yes it's sad Diane, but others will benefit, because he was there, in whatever he decides to do as a result.

Cheryl, everyone should go read that link. I just found out I'll be able to watch Sunday's benefit in VH1 country. I don't get CMT. Just GAC. It sounds like a real winner!
