Hey, was drifting off to sleep last night and the first lines of the chorus shot through my mind. So of course I had to write it down right away. So here it is.

The Ghost of Oakridge Swamp

Winter time in South Lousian big old house and
A stuborn old man, yellin at his pretty wife Suzanne
When he gets done she gets mad as can be
A knife in the back and he's in a hole
'neath that old oak tree
Much to her surprise, he opens up his eyes
And what he had to say, would haunt her everyday in that big old house he swore

Chorus:

Every night I'll be back for more
Rattlin' the windows pounding on your door
I'll be on the whipoorwill call as you're sittin down to eat
And I'll be that icy chill you when you go to sleep
You've found hell, and opened up its door
Remember every night I'll be back for more

Well she married a rich young farmer
And he moved into that old house
But ever since she killed her husband
the fears been hard to douse
She's drivin her man crazy, with fixin the window pains
But it don't matter cause it's always forever the same cause

Every night he comes back for more
Rattlin' the windows pounding on their door
He's on the whipoorwill call as they're sittin down to eat
And he's that icy chill they get when they go to sleep
She found hell, and opened up its door
And now every night he'll be back for more

The young farmer rode away one day
Strait through the bayou right on his way
Suzannes body hasn't been found to this day
And if it's up to the ghost thats how it'll stay

Break

And sometimes if you're alone in the house
A whipoorwill will call and it gets quite as a mouse
The floor starts creakin' and the windows a shakin'
The door starts poundin' and you're a quakin'
An icy chill runs right down your spine
And you break for the door praying you make it in time cause

Every night he comes back for more
Rattlin' the windows pounding on that door
He's on the whipoorwill call as you're sittin down to eat
And he's that icy chill you get when you go to sleep
She found hell, and opened up its door
And now every night he'll be back for more

[B]Insert evil cackling here[\B]

The title alone gave me a chill, dude. And now, I can't stop shivering. thanks a lot. LOL ;)

I was Wondering why you asked me how to spell whippoorwill. :) Glad to see it came in use.

Talk about one that could make a kick-a** video. :)

PS - You're not the only one who checks the forums more often than their own good. But, don't stop posting. The lucky ones who do make it here would be at a loss if we lost anyone. Just be patient with people.

Love this -

Cool idea -

Makes me smile and shiver at the same time.

And what fun if ghosts and goblins did go bump in the night.
