listen to The Magic of Christmas or Beyond the Season during a time when it isn't even close to Christmas?? LOL

I just have to take it out once in a while I can't help it....I love it! lol

I find myself taking 'TMOC' off my CD stand in March or whatever! It's weird cause it's Christmas music and you're listening to it in like, March or whatever:p

But I don't listen to 'Beyond The Season' that much. I like 'TMOC' better, it's got more; what's the word I'm looking for; power, or energy in it. It rocks:D

I know what u mean....I play trumpet and as a brass player I can't help but LOVE that Big Band Sound....I mean Garth and Brass music what else IS there to make a great xmas album!?!?!?

I love it....I think I listen to it at least one day a week...puts me in a good mood even at work! LOL

What I really like is watching his Chrsitmas special and on like the first two songs or whatever, when the brass section starts playing he, like, pumps his fists and like moves with the band. Do you know what I'm referring to?

When I watch it, I do the same thing. I think if people saw me, they might thnk it looks corny, me doing what Garth's doing, but it's fun:-)

P.S. One of my faves is 'Baby Jesus Is Born,' awesome song , and really cool beat:D

hell yeah !!!!!!!!!!! but one song... the gift?.. i know the number it is on the cd but not the title of it

04-26-2001, 12:17 PM
from Thanksgiving to New Year's last year we had that CD going in the Picture Studio and I just LOVED when that song came on it was WONDERFUL! Baby Jesus is Born is the best!!

the gift is track 4 on Beyond the Season :)

sure I know what you're talking about....it's funny watching Garth do it ....so cute lol. That's something that jazz musicians do...particularly, band leaders of jazz groups. It has to do with what we brass players refer to as "hits"....or accented notes....it's pretty kewl watching Garth do it I agree, hehe :) Just shows how much he loves music :)

I know exactly what you're tal;kin about!! It's very cute!! *sigh* what a good memory that is... :)

04-26-2001, 06:43 PM
I listen to BTS and TMOC sometimes when I need something "new" to listen to :p :)

I got Beyond the Seasons, the christmas just gone, and I so know what ya'll mean. I though I was the only one who listened to his christmas stuff out of season, I so glad im not the only one. I was only just listening to the Garth mans version of 'Sleigh Ride' the other day.

In my opinion anything that Garth does is good at any time of year:p

04-27-2001, 02:01 PM
I can't help it....it's so fun....

Ari, maybe ya should try it...ya know if ya get in a Christmas frame of mind maybe it will feel cooler LOL :p

I can't imagine 95 degrees in April though, yikes!!

It's been 75-80 here a couple times and we are all dying already.. lol that transition is terrible....In August 75-80 will feel nice to us!

I have always listened to Garths Christmas songs at all times of the year...
I love his voice on "Go Tell It On The Mountain That Jesus Christ Is Born"...it's so deep and intense...especially when he first starts singing that song.
I'm glad he included it on "The Magic Of Christmas" like he did on "Beyond The Season"...it must be one of his favorites too! :)

Shelley...I agree with you...
the album is a good source of mental air conditioning! LOL :D

I have both Christmas CD's out on my dresser. I love hearing my no mater of the season.

04-27-2001, 06:47 PM
Our local radio station played The Gift two days ago! Don't know why but... who cares?

04-27-2001, 08:53 PM
I don't particularly like Christmas time (too much hype and commercialism) so I ONLY play those two CDs out of season. I love 'em in July....

04-27-2001, 09:25 PM
Sure! Not that often, but I just have to hear them once in a while.

04-27-2001, 11:06 PM
I was listening to both of them the other day I love them. Its so cool to be able to listen to them year round.

04-28-2001, 06:27 PM
Didn't Garth record those albums in summertime anyway? I remember him saying something about having to alter the heating in the studio and hang up Christmas decorations to get into the Christmas spirit - and say 'Merry Christmas' to everyone!

I remember driving around the centre of London in early November last year (or was it October), with the window down and The Magic of Christmas playing loud enough for people to stop and look to see where it was coming from... Maybe we'll try it in July this year. :)

Everyday is Christmas when it comes to Garth!

Sure I listen to them all year long. I thought I was the only one, glad to know I am not the only one who enjoys them year round!;)

that's really cool Deb (redstrokes77) that the radio station played "The Gift" the other day!
Unusual also!

The albums were recorded in the summertime...I know "Beyond The Season" was released on August 25th....I remember because it was my birthday! :)

Hey...Christmas can be all year round...especially if you have the Spirit! :)

04-29-2001, 06:27 PM
Cool Angela, I think you should wait till a really warm and sunny day in Summer and crank BTS or MOC up really loud as you're driving round London, that would be funny.

But lots of artist record Christmas songs out of season don't they, like 'Wizzards' classic 'Wish it could be Christmas everday' Im sure they recorded it during the summer:confused:

That's right, Hannah - there was something about it on Channel 4's Top Ten Christmas Songs, wasn't there? The kids got to do the Christmas thing in the studio, but when it came to Christmas and they were supposed to be supporting the band on Top Of The Pops, their teachers wouldn't let them go. Shame on them!
