Hi everyone,
Have you heard the song "Mrs. Steven Rudy" by Mark McGuinn or seen the video? What do you think of this new artist?

I think that the song is a great song!!! Very catchy tune, I find myself singing it all day long, but I could do without the video. All he does is sit there and bounce and sing, kind of pointless if you ask me. But I love the song!!

I read somewhere, Icanīt remember where, that the song sucks, but for me is a catchy tune and I like it, I'll never see the video but the songs is all that matters for this answer

It had to grow on me to, but it's a funny song. It's catchy, and I find that I don't mind listening to it now.

At first the song bothered me, because I thought it was about an adult man lusting after another man's wife... but I heard someone explain that it was a memory of a child having a crush on the woman across the street. So now it doesn't bother me. :)
It's cute, and very catchy. Haven't seen the video.

Wow, seems most of you replied positively. I really like this song. It's a little different and so is the artist, but I think it really is a catchy tune and the banjo is a great change (as Tim says, "Things Change"). Mark seems to be making a big impression at radio and he is very talented, wrote most of his own material.
I read somewhere that Mark is a different kinda hat act and I must say that I could do without the hat (is it a beret?) all the time. lol

Now that I have seen the video...
Eh. <shrug>
It's kind of boring... I like it, but what there is should be mixed with some "action" from the song... a kid peering out the window at the lady across the street... something. His imagination of him and the lady getting married or something... Something!

Hi Carla:)
I have seen/heard the video on CMT. Nice Voice & Good Song :) and I like Mark's look...he is being himself, not a cardboard cut out :)

I've liked that song ever since I first heard it! I think it's really fun! I love that the banjo is used in the song, I've been a big fan of that since the Dixie Chicks! :)
But I think the video is boring, they could've really worked with the song to make an awesome video!
Also, I must admit that Mark looks more like he should be in a coffee house reciting poetry instead of singing country songs but it's also cool that he doesn't look like every other country artist out there.
