Nothing behind this one...just what came out. I will say that parts of it are completely true. Guess which part?! LOL ::rolleyes:: (I also think this might become a duet with a woman's voice for the first verses and a man's voice coming in for the chorus...make it more effective. Hmm, wonder if Ty's thinking of his next album ;))
Dreaming of You
© 2001 Stephanie Shade

She wants to find that man in all the love songs
that rock her off to slumber in the dark
She canít understand how every singer seems to know
What sheís longing for deep in her heart

She needs him so much more than only in her dreams
Yet she forgets all her pain when he appears
So sheíll meet him again for the first time tonight
and heíll only know the words she wants to hear

No introduction needed, darliní
Iíve been waiting for you all my life
And seeing how you look tonight
Well, I got most of it right
You can give me almost any name
All my wishes still come true
And when you call me, just remember
Iím the one whoís dreaming of you

He wants to find that girl in all the love songs
that softly sing him through the night
Heís tired of holding her with just the arms of imagination
Or listen to himself say itíll be all right

He needs her so much more than only in his mind
Heíd do anything he could to make her stay
And if he only had the chance to offer up his heart
He would already know just what to say

No introduction needed, darliní
Iíve been waiting for you all my life
And seeing how you look tonight
Well, I got most of it right
You can give me almost any name
All my wishes still come true
And when you call me, just remember
Iím the one whoís dreaming of you

They wanted to find the one in all the love songs
and sent a silent wish to every star
ĎTil they took that fateful look across a crowded room
And lost themselves to the words they knew by heart

No introduction needed, darlin'
Iíve been waiting for you all my life
And seeing how you look tonight
Well, I got most of it right
You can give me almost any name
All my wishes still come true
And when you call me, just remember
Iím the one whoís dreaming of you

Thanks, Marjolijn and Brian. :)

As it turns out, Brian, I do have a small leather-trimmed journal in which I write all the lyrics into once they're "done". I'll have to start a new one soon, too. :)

But the one I have now will always be the first and most special because I was lucky enough to have Garth sign it and he added his own words of inspiration without being asked. :):):) But that's another story.

awwww.. that sounds like a VERY SPECIAL journal, Nash! :):):)

Do you have a Website or so, where we can read all your lyrics?

No, Marjolijn, I don't have a website. Besides the fact that I know almost nothing about making one, lol, I already have enough distraction from my school work.;)

Hmm, no need to waste time with rehashing the ones you've been here to read, but...maybe I'll post the older ones and hope that no one minds, lol.

Thanks for the support,

Stephanie,

Your song filled in very nicely in "Afterlife - The Chris Saga Continues".;)

Brian - This one is #28. No where near Scott, but...he got a head start, lol.

Paula - Thank you. Yeah, I'm good friends with the writer. I get a request almost every day for a song, lol. Whether it be mine or one I think would work. But she's real sweet about it.

Nash
PS - While I'm here, how bout an old song? (Kinda feel like Garth on his radio special, LOL. *snicker* Hardly..)

This was my very first attempt after Garth got "Fly On The Wings Of Music" out of me. (I still remember scribbling on my pad in the back of the van back in a blizzard of '99 driving between my Aunt's in Michigan and The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. :)) Hope you enjoy.
Love You Like This
© 1999 Stephanie Shade

You kiss me goodbye
and then drive away
Behind my smile
Iím begging you to stay
Time after time, youíve told me
"itís only business"
Still, I canít help but wonder
whoís planning these visits

Last night when you held me
so close in your arms
I could feel your touch
but your heart was gone
I can only imagine
who you gave it to
But, at least I canít break it
when I tell you

I canít love you like this
Always missing the power
I used to feel in your kiss
Knowing that when you leave
Iím not the one you miss
No, I canít love you like this

It seems the harder I try to
hold onto your heart
the faster you run
to anotherís arms
Still, Iím not gonna tell you
"She wonít love you better"
All I know is I canít live
this lie forever

ĎCuz, I canít love you like this
Always missing the power
I used to feel on your kiss
Knowing that when you leave
Iím not the one you miss
No, I canít love you like this
AnymoreÖ
I canít love you like this

Thanks for posting that "oldie" Nash. Really enjoy reading your lyrics. They are so uhm... fluent (don't know whether this is the right expression to use here).

Thanks :)

Trisha,
Oh! Did I say "Trisha?" I meant, "Steph." ;) Okay, first things first! "Dreaming of You", sounds so perfect, doesn't it? I know why...it is! You can't lie to me and say it's not! The idea of it being a duet is so wonderful..I can definately see it as being one! Uhh..I know someone who can strum a six-string pretty well..but it hurts her fingers if she plays for more than 2 hours. :D

Marjolijn,
I think I know what you mean..the words "flow" so perfectly..it's amazing, isn't it? Personally, I'm very jealous. ;)

Anyways, on a final note...the "old" song you posted is GREAT! For some reason, I haven't seen it. :( Wait, rephrase that...HADN'T seen it. :) I love it SO much! I hate you...in the best way possible. Since your "cup runneth over" can I catch the excess? ;) Job WELL done Steph!
